Cherie Washington

Cherie Washington, Ed.D. - President Elect

Dr. Cherie Washington is currently the President of the Fort Worth Area Alliance of Black School Educators. She is a member of the TABSE Executive Board and a member of NABSE. As the Chief of Secondary Schools in Fort Worth ISD, Dr. Washington leads over fifty secondary schools and administrators and supports 40,000 students. Known as a “Turn Around Leader”, she has a heart for children and is an advocate for African American students. She is happily married to husband Lewis and they have four beautiful children.

Dr Chris Pichon

Dr. Christopher A. Pichon, Sr. - President Elect

Dr. Chris Pichon serves as Senior Director in Galena Park ISD, and Adjunct Professor at Texas Southern University. He is the Financial Secretary for TABSE, and Past President for HAABSE. Dr. Pichon presents effective leadership workshops at state/national conferences and on panel discussions. He has received numerous leadership awards for his achievements and humanitarian efforts, most notably national directorship for youth and an annual free community health fair sponsored by his Chris Pichon II Foundation.

Jamal Robinson

Jamal Robinson - Treasurer

I am a 3rd generation educator employed by Houston ISD. I have held numerous positions in the public and private sectors all dealing with strategic planning and financial management. I currently am the Strategic Partnership Develop & Sponsor co-chair for TABSE. My leadership experience includes NEA State Delegate, appointments several non-profits' board of directors, and various other leadership roles.

Mary Mae Olison

Mary “Mae” Olison - Parliamentarian

I am an accomplished educator, motivational administrator, and a proven leader who has served the interest of public schools spanning five decades in various positions in both large and small schools.

I have been a member of TABSE/NABSE for over 20 years and have served as a local president for 7 years. My commitment to serving black and brown children is to help them be successful in education and society. I have served as recording secretary and would like to also use my training in parliamentarian procedures as parliamentarian for TABSE. I love this organization and have cherished the relationships I have made with our members and those who I have worked alongside for all these years. TABSE has grown to be a force in change for black and brown children.

My administrative career is broad and extensive includes twenty-one (21) years as a teacher, campus administrator, and assistant superintendent at one district – San Antonio ISD.
I graduated from Kansas State University with my Bachelors’ and continued my education receiving masters’ degrees from Texas State and Texas A&M Kingsville for Superintendency.

Melvin Guider

Melvin Guider - Parliamentarian

As TABSE Parliamentarian, I seek to assist TABSE with parliamentary procedures in alliance business. As TABSE Legislative Chairperson from 2004 through 2018 and NABSE Legislative Co-Chair, I feel confident that I can continue to make our organization strong through established meeting procedures and knowledge. I have demonstrated expertise in revisions to our Constitution and have also coordinated conference Legislative Symposiums and Delegate Assembly meetings for TABSE. I welcome your support to serve TABSE as Parliamentarian.

Bashelia Ward

Bashelia Ward - Recording Secretary

Ms. Ward has achieved several remarkable accolades, including a four-year degree in Biology, an MBA and 84-credit hours toward a second master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction. Throughout her 20+ year educational technology sales career, Ms. Ward has earned a reputation as an expert who creates custom Ed Tech solutions for her clientele using metrics and analysis. Aligning consumer needs with organizational resources and research-based trends on the market is Ms. Ward’s forte.

Adjacent to her impact and power as a professional sales leader, Ms. Ward displays exceptional strength as an active and involved mother of two, a daughter who is a sophomore in college and a son who is a sophomore in high school. Ms. Ward pours her soul into her children’s academic and athletic endeavors and routinely cheers them on court side at their respective basketball tournaments. Family time is definitely the most rewarding time for this proud mother who makes adequate time to be the best she can be at home and in the workplace.
