Dr. Thomas Randle has been the superintendent of Lamar CISD since July 2001. Prior to coming to Lamar CISD, he served as superintendent in the LaMarque ISD for six years. Dr. Randle received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Texas A&M University. He began his career in education as a teacher in Sweeny, Texas. After receiving his Doctorate from Oklahoma State University, he held administrative positions in the Conroe ISD serving as Assistant Principal, Principal, and Assistant Superintendent for Secondary Education.

He is active in civic, community and professional organizations and serves on numerous boards, including TASB Risk Management Fund, UIL Legislative Committee, Texas FFA Association, Texas Association of School Admin-istrators, Texas Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development, Texas Academic Decathlon, and the Texas Business and Education Coalition. He is Past President of the Texas Association of School Administrators, and Past President of the Texas Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development. He served on the Commissioner’s Cabinet of Superintendents, Policy Committee on Public Education information, an advisor for the Recommended High School Plan with the Texas Education Agency, and is an adjunct professor with the University of Houston-Clear Lake. Dr. Randle was appointed by the Lieutenant Governor and Speaker of the House to the Select Committee on Public School Accountability.

Dr. Randle has received the honor of being named the 2001 Superintendent of the Year for Region IV and a state finalist for Superintendent of the Year. He was named a Distinguish Student, Outstanding Graduate and Notable Graduate Nominee at Texas A&M University. He was an Oklahoma Regent of Higher Education Fel-lowship recipient, and served on a focus group for the Council of Chief State School Officers in Washington DC. He was named Texas Educational support Staff (TESA), Administrator of the Year in 2004.
